Landscape Photography

As a young child, I would hike through the pine tree forest, climb behind the waterfall in the gorge, and reach out my hand to touch the droplets of water. As I did that, I sensed how the spirit of nature and my inner soul merged together. This inspired my passion for landscape photography. It is the spark from Mother Nature that I channel through my photographs.

The first National Park I visited was Death Valley, CA. I  was there for testing planetary landing algorithms that I developed at JPL, NASA. I fell in love with the tranquility of dessert nature. Since then, I have visited many more National Parks. Their magnificence has inspired my photography. My lifetime goal is to visit and photograph all of them.

When I lived near the California coast I often watched the sun plunge into the ocean. And when I lived on the east coast, I watched it emerge over the shore. I fell in love with photographing these natural phenomena. I would carefully calculate the time and position of the sun and wait the perfect moment to capture nature’s defining moments.

About ME

I have built a career as a computer vision engineer analyzing images and now I am developing my passion as a landscape photographer creating them. I received my first film camera as a gift from Kodak at an engineering competition in 2003 and now I shoot with a Canon DSLR. I blend my technical skills and my imagination into framing the perfect shot. My goal as a photographer is to capture not only the beauty of the landscape but also the emotion that nature elicits in me.
